British Embassy Staffer Arrested in Germany After Promoting Secret Paperwork to Russia, Cops Say

A British embassy staffer has been detained in Germany after allegedly being caught promoting paperwork to Russian intelligence brokers.

The person, who has solely been recognized as β€˜David S,’ was arrested Tuesday after being trailed by each British and German authorities. German federal prosecutors described the person as a 57-year-old worker on the British Embassy in Germany’s capital, Berlin, and alleged that he acquired an unspecified sum of money handy papers to Russia.

β€œOn no less than one event he forwarded paperwork obtained in the midst of his skilled actions to a consultant of a Russian intelligence service,” German federal prosecutors said in a statement Wednesday. β€œIn return for offering info, the accused acquired money.”

London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest in its own statement, saying the 57-year-old had been detained in Potsdam, close to Berlin, and was hit with prices associated to β€œIntelligence Agent exercise.”

The person is anticipated in courtroom in Germany later Wednesday. German authorities stated his house and office have been searched.
